DesignCo is the new name for a company familiar to long time Wacoan readers. Voted Best of Waco for carpet/flooring 11 times, Design Superstore introduced the shorter name for their growing company last October. Adding four new locations in west Texas, they now have a total to seven stores, including DesignCo’s headquarters and flagship showroom on Franklin Avenue. I love custom projects that allow me to make unique pieces even more. But, my favorite thing to do at Harp is to turn on the lathe- Bowls, bottles, candlesticks- anything on the lathe. We updated and transformed the downtown location where it originally opened in 1977 into the beautiful modern showroom and design center it is today. As Central Texas and the Brazos Valley has grown so have we. In 2003 we expanded to Waco and then again in 2009 to Temple. That same year we acquired a granite countertop company in Waco. In 2012 we moved the Waco store to its current location on Franklin Avenue in Waco. In 2021 we grew into west Texas adding four new locations and now have a shorter name for our growing list of locations and products, DesignCo.
There are too many bands or groups to name- but, I’ve had a lifelong love for the Beatles- my dad introduced me to their music as a child, and it’s stuck with me. Though not a musical artist, I also love the poetry of Windell Berry. His writings make me appreciate natural beauty and working with my hands. Kelly designs handmade home goods for HDC, makes everyone in the Harp family look good, is a lover of just about anything on NPR, an avid reader, a coffee drinker, a foodie, and craves the beach every day. With a creative spirit, love for all things beautiful, and an eye for design, she is making HDC look better and better every day.
And most important, we are committed to applying our best efforts to your needs.
