Several of the shore excursions left us waiting in the ship's theater for hours before the excursions actually took place. Worst of all, there was literally no plan for the disembarcation of the ship in Port Louis. Myself and a few hundred other people were actually trapped for more than two hours in the stairwell between floors six and four on the ship, the fourth floor being the ramp for disembarcation. At one point, the air on the fifth floor became so hot and dense that people feared fainting. Finally, we located a crew member who opened a door for us so a breeze could circulate.

The food was outstanding and extremely varied, although the staff didn't know was was in some dishes when queried (a must for allergy awareness). Bar drinks were difficult to get, typically with only 1 bar person and long queues. Also, they seemed unaware of what was covered in the drinks package. The alcohol drinks package was $1200 pp for 10 days - really???? Although extortionately charging $9/glass (both the white and red were pretty terrible tasting) for the cheapest wine could probably manage it if you did nothing but drink all day long.

They were very happy to take our money but no so much to accommodate our needs. Very disappointed so far with this experience. Most of the windows & beariers around the ship was milky and could not take a picture through them. I been on two of their ships and will not waste my money on another Norwegian cruise again. I enjoyed Carnival & Royal Caribbean cruises. NCL has become such a low-quality cruise line in the past few years that I will not sail on NCL again. We definitely noticed a difference in terms of food, service and entertainment. In a nutshell, given the size of the ship and number of passengers, yes, expects waits and crowds at the pinch points you mentioned (i.e., buffet at peak times, disembarking, tendering, etc.). The only thing that we did not appreciate is how their employees were being exploited. I noticed fairly quickly that all the servers, attendees cooks, housekeepers were from very poor countries. The only white faces who were part of the crew was the captain, entertainment, and onboarding. I gathered rather quickly that these employees were working long hard hours. I started asking questions and researching and found that the majority of employees work 12 plus hours a day, 7 days a week, with no days off for 8 months straight! The reason the cruise line hires crew from poor countires is to avoid labor laws so they can work the crew like animals and pay them very little.
